SLGH013G Heritage Hi-Beat 40 mm
Description of the watch
Mount Iwate, the famous 2,038-meter peak that overlooks the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi, where all Grand Seiko mechanical models are made, served as the inspiration for this Hi-Beat 36000 timepiece, as it has for other models. Here, this timepiece features a light blue dial with a distinct texture that resembles the snow on Mount Iwate that begins to melt as spring approaches.
In terms of design, this Hi-Beat 36000 model is a reinterpretation of the 44GS design that combines a flat dial with a large aperture to allow light to penetrate and create different atmospheres on which the multi-faceted indexes and hands reveal their brilliance. Zaratsu polishing provides a perfectly smooth and distortion-free mirror finish on the upper surfaces of the case while the index at 12 o'clock, twice as wide as the others, enhances legibility, a typical Grand Seiko style feature.
The case measures 40 mm in diameter and 11.7 mm thick, making it thinner than other modern reinterpretations of the 44GS thanks to the 9SA5 caliber, which, in addition to its 80-hour power reserve, accuracy rate of +5 to -3 seconds per day, and 36,000 bph rate, features a slim movement.
To ensure the watch's brilliance, as well as durability, Ever-Brilliant Steel, a high-quality steel with a PREN (Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number) value 1.7 times higher than the steel used in most high-end watches, was chosen not only for the case but also for the bracelet.
