SBGY007G Elegance Spring Drive 38.5 mm Omiwatari
Description of the watch
Every winter, the water of Lake Suwa in the center of Nagano Prefecture in Japan freezes and most of the time, a long ridge appears in the ice from one side of the lake to the other.
Traditionally, this is the "Omiwatari", i.e. the place where the Shinto gods walk on the ice.
True or not, this legend inspired the artisans at Shinshu Watch Studio to create an exquisitely subtle dial for this hand-wound Spring Drive watch.
The dial, in glacier blue, is textured to mimic the ripples of the frozen lake. Inspired by the shape of a wind-blown sail, the stainless steel case measures 38.5mm in diameter and is designed to fit easily under a shirt cuff.
The case houses the caliber 9R31, which features a double spring barrel that offers a 72-hour power reserve when fully wound. The transparent case back allows the viewer to admire the finishing of this beautiful hand-wound movement.
